The Co-operative Bank of South Sudan Limited is a commercial bank whose aim is to bring about economic empowerment to the people of South Sudan through the establishment and growth of a strong Cooperative movement in every sector of the economy.
The bank offers innovative conventional banking services to Cooperatives, SMEs, Microfinance, International Organizations, Institutions, Corporates, Individuals, Government Ministries and Quasi-Government Agencies, private and public sector customers with a full range of banking services for a positive impact on the economy.
Co-operative Bank of South Sudan (COBSS) has been established as a strategic joint venture between the Government of the Republic of South Sudan (RSS) on behalf of the co-operative movement in South Sudan and the Co-operative Bank of Kenya (COPK).

History
Co-operative Bank of South Sudan is a member of the Co-operative Bank of Kenya Group, headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, with subsidiaries in Kenya and South Sudan.
As of December 2013, the Group’s asset base exceeded US$2.6 billion (KES:231.2 billion), with shareholders’ equity in excess of US$414 million (KES:36.8 billion).
The shares of stock of the Cooperative Bank Group are listed on the Nairobi Stock Exchange, where it trades under the symbol: COOP.
